Medicine overview

Zyclastin 4 Mg Injection contains zoledronic acid, a medicine from the bisphosphonate group. The verified product has been listed as a 4 mg/5 mL injection supplied in a vial. Zoledronic acid reduces the breakdown of bone and is used in cancer care to treat high calcium levels caused by malignancy and to help prevent skeletal complications in people with multiple myeloma or cancers that have spread to bone. It is administered by intravenous infusion under medical supervision.

What it is used for

Zoledronic acid 4 mg is used to treat hypercalcemia of malignancy, where cancer causes an abnormally high level of calcium in the blood. It is also used to reduce skeletal-related complications in people with multiple myeloma or bone metastases from solid tumors. These complications can include pathological fractures, spinal cord compression, and the need for radiation or surgery to bone.

How it works

Zoledronic acid is a bisphosphonate that strongly inhibits osteoclast-mediated bone resorption. Osteoclasts are cells that normally break down old bone. In cancers involving bone, this breakdown can become excessive, weakening the skeleton and releasing calcium into the bloodstream. By reducing osteoclast activity, zoledronic acid slows this process. This helps control cancer-related high calcium levels and lowers the occurrence of skeletal complications associated with multiple myeloma and bone metastases.

How it is taken

Zyclastin is administered intravenously by a healthcare professional and should not be self-injected. For the verified 4 mg/5 mL zoledronic acid formulation, the concentrate must be diluted in 100 mL of sterile 0.9% sodium chloride or 5% dextrose before infusion. It must not be mixed with calcium-containing solutions such as Lactated Ringer's solution. Zoledronic acid should be infused over at least 15 minutes. Kidney function and hydration status need assessment as appropriate before treatment. The dose and treatment interval depend on the indication and renal function and are determined by the treating clinician.

Important warnings

Zoledronic acid can cause significant kidney injury, including renal failure; serum creatinine should be checked before treatment as directed, and dehydration should be corrected. Severe hypocalcemia can occur, so calcium and related electrolytes may require monitoring and correction before treatment. Osteonecrosis of the jaw has been reported, particularly in patients with cancer receiving intravenous bisphosphonates; a dental examination and appropriate preventive dentistry are recommended before treatment, and invasive dental procedures should be approached carefully during therapy. Severe bone, joint, or muscle pain and atypical femoral fractures have also been reported. Do not use in patients with known hypersensitivity to zoledronic acid or formulation components. Patients should not receive another zoledronic-acid product or another bisphosphonate concurrently unless specifically managed by their clinician.

Side effects and monitoring

Common adverse effects include nausea, fatigue, anemia, bone pain, constipation, fever, vomiting, and shortness of breath. Flu-like reactions, including fever, chills, headache, and muscle or joint aches, can occur after an infusion. Serious problems include kidney impairment, severe hypocalcemia, severe allergic reactions, osteonecrosis of the jaw, eye inflammation, and atypical femoral fractures. Seek prompt medical attention for breathing difficulty or swelling suggesting an allergic reaction, muscle spasms or tingling that may indicate low calcium, markedly reduced urination, persistent jaw pain or poor healing in the mouth, or new unexplained thigh or groin pain. Renal function, calcium and other relevant electrolytes should be monitored as clinically appropriate.

Pregnancy

Zoledronic acid can cause fetal harm and should not be given during pregnancy. Females of reproductive potential should be advised about fetal risk and the need for effective contraception during and after treatment according to the prescribing clinician's instructions.

Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding is not recommended during treatment with zoledronic acid and for a period after treatment. The appropriate duration after the final dose should be discussed with the treating clinician because zoledronic acid binds to bone and may remain in the body for an extended period.

Food and drink

There is no food-related administration requirement for an intravenous infusion. Adequate hydration is important, particularly when zoledronic acid is being used for hypercalcemia of malignancy; hydration and fluid management should be directed by the treating healthcare team.

Frequently asked questions

What should I expect after my first zoledronic acid infusion?

Some people develop a temporary flu-like reaction with fever, tiredness, headache, or muscle, joint, or bone aches after an infusion. Contact your healthcare team if symptoms are severe, persistent, or accompanied by other concerning symptoms.

Why do I need a dental check before starting zoledronic acid?

Zoledronic acid has been associated with osteonecrosis of the jaw, a rare but serious problem in which jawbone does not heal normally. A dental examination and necessary preventive dental care are recommended before treatment, particularly for patients receiving the medicine for cancer-related conditions.

Can I have a tooth removed while receiving zoledronic acid?

Tell both your dentist and cancer-treatment team before having invasive dental work. Tooth extraction and other procedures involving the jaw may increase the risk of osteonecrosis of the jaw, so treatment decisions need to be coordinated by the clinicians involved.

Why are kidney blood tests needed before an infusion?

Zoledronic acid can impair kidney function, and the risk is greater in some patients with existing kidney problems or dehydration. Serum creatinine should be assessed as directed before treatment, and the dose may need adjustment or treatment may not be appropriate in severe renal impairment.

How long should a zoledronic acid infusion take?

The 4 mg intravenous dose should be infused over no less than 15 minutes. Giving it too rapidly can increase the risk of kidney toxicity.

Can Zyclastin be self-injected at home?

No. Zoledronic acid 4 mg injection is given as an intravenous infusion by a healthcare professional. The 4 mg/5 mL concentrate requires dilution before administration and is not intended for direct injection.

Can Cheap Generic Med ship Zyclastin to the United States?

Cheap Generic Med serves the United States under its international shipping model. Delivery for eligible orders is typically estimated at 10–14 business days after dispatch, but customs or carrier delays can extend transit. Prescription and personal-import requirements may apply.

Will my Cheap Generic Med order have tracking?

Under the standard international fulfilment model, tracked shipping is used and a tracking number should be provided after dispatch. New tracking numbers may take 24–72 hours to show movement in the carrier system.
