Medicine overview

Gonablok 200 Capsule is an oral prescription medicine containing 200 mg of danazol, a synthetic steroid with weak androgenic activity. Danazol alters the action and production of reproductive hormones. It is used in hormone-responsive conditions including endometriosis and may also be used for fibrocystic breast disease. Danazol is additionally indicated for preventing attacks of hereditary angioedema. Gonablok 200 Capsule is manufactured by Win-Medicare Pvt Ltd.

What it is used for

Gonablok 200 Capsule is used to manage endometriosis, where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus and can cause pelvic pain and other symptoms. Danazol is also used in selected patients with fibrocystic breast disease. Another established use of danazol is prevention of hereditary angioedema attacks, including swelling affecting the skin, abdomen, face, or airway.

How it works

Danazol suppresses the pituitary-ovarian hormonal pathway and reduces the release of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH). These hormonal effects can make endometrial tissue inactive and cause it to shrink. In hereditary angioedema, danazol increases levels of C1 esterase inhibitor, a protein involved in controlling inflammatory pathways that otherwise contribute to episodes of swelling.

How it is taken

Gonablok 200 Capsule is swallowed by mouth. Follow the prescribed dose and schedule because dosing varies considerably according to the condition being treated and individual response. Do not create or change a dosing schedule without medical guidance. Food can substantially alter danazol absorption, so the medicine should be taken consistently in relation to meals according to the prescriber's instructions.

Important warnings

Do not use danazol during pregnancy or breastfeeding. It is also contraindicated in people with unexplained abnormal genital bleeding, markedly impaired liver, kidney, or heart function, porphyria, androgen-dependent tumors, active or previous thrombosis or thromboembolic disease, or hypersensitivity to danazol. Serious reported risks include blood clots and stroke, liver injury and hepatic tumors with long-term use, and benign intracranial hypertension. Seek prompt medical attention for severe or unusual headache with visual disturbance, symptoms suggesting a blood clot or stroke, or signs of significant liver problems. Danazol can interact with warfarin, carbamazepine, ciclosporin/cyclosporine, tacrolimus, antidiabetic medicines and certain statins; statin combinations can increase the risk of myopathy and rhabdomyolysis.

Side effects and monitoring

Common or clinically recognized effects include weight gain, acne, oily skin, menstrual changes, flushing, sweating, changes in breast size, vaginal dryness or irritation, headache, nervousness, mood changes and androgenic effects such as increased body or facial hair and voice changes. Some androgenic changes may not completely reverse after treatment stops. Serious reported effects include thromboembolic events, liver injury, benign intracranial hypertension, severe skin reactions and blood-cell abnormalities. Periodic liver-function testing is recommended, and hematologic monitoring should be considered. Seek medical attention for severe headache with visual changes, jaundice or other signs of liver injury, severe skin reactions, or symptoms of thrombosis.

Pregnancy

Danazol is contraindicated during pregnancy because fetal exposure can cause androgenic effects, particularly masculinization of a female fetus. Pregnancy should be excluded before treatment begins, and a non-hormonal contraceptive method should be used during treatment. If pregnancy occurs during danazol treatment, the medicine should be stopped and medical advice obtained promptly.

Breastfeeding

Danazol is contraindicated during breastfeeding. Available evidence does not establish its safety in nursing infants, and an alternative medicine is preferred when breastfeeding.

Food and drink

Food can significantly affect danazol absorption. Studies with danazol capsules found substantially higher drug exposure after a high-fat meal than under fasting conditions. Take Gonablok consistently in relation to food and follow the instructions given by the prescriber.

Storage

Store below 30°C.

Frequently asked questions

Can danazol stop my periods while I am taking it?

Yes, menstrual changes including absence of periods can occur because danazol suppresses the pituitary-ovarian hormonal pathway. Normal ovulation and cyclic bleeding generally return after treatment is discontinued.

Can Gonablok cause weight gain or acne?

Yes. Weight gain, acne and oily skin are recognized effects of danazol. Tell your prescriber if these effects become troublesome or pronounced.

Can danazol change my voice or cause increased facial hair?

Yes. Danazol has androgenic activity and can cause effects such as increased facial or body hair and voice changes. Some androgenic effects may not be fully reversible, so report them promptly to your prescriber.

Can I become pregnant while taking Gonablok 200 Capsule?

Pregnancy must be avoided during danazol treatment because exposure can harm fetal development. Pregnancy should be excluded before treatment, and non-hormonal contraception should be used while taking danazol.

Should Gonablok be taken with food?

Take it consistently in relation to meals according to your prescriber's instructions. Food, particularly a high-fat meal, can substantially increase danazol absorption.

Does danazol need blood-test monitoring?

Monitoring may be required. Periodic liver-function tests are recommended, and blood-cell monitoring should be considered during treatment.

Can Cheap Generic Med ship Gonablok 200 Capsule to the United States?

Cheap Generic Med serves the United States under its international shipping model. Delivery is typically estimated at 10–14 business days after dispatch, although customs or carrier delays can extend transit; prescription and personal-import requirements may also apply.

Will my Gonablok order have tracking?

Under the standard Cheap Generic Med fulfilment model, tracked international shipping is used and a tracking number should be provided after dispatch. New tracking details may take 24–72 hours to show movement in the carrier system.
