Danogen 100 mg is an oral capsule containing 100 mg of danazol, a synthetic steroid with weak androgenic activity. The product is manufactured by Cipla Ltd. Common or clinically recognized effects include weight gain, acne, oily skin, menstrual changes or absence of periods, flushing, sweating, vaginal dryness, fluid retention, hair growth or hair loss, headache, nausea, and voice changes; some androgenic changes, particularly deepening of the voice, may persist after treatment stops. Serious or less common reactions include liver injury or jaundice, thrombosis and stroke, benign intracranial hypertension, severe skin reactions, blood-cell abnormalities, and rare serious hepatic complications. Periodic liver-function testing is recommended, and hematologic monitoring should be considered. Pregnancy
Danazol is contraindicated during pregnancy. Pregnancy should be excluded before treatment, and a non-hormonal contraceptive method should be used during therapy. Exposure during pregnancy can cause androgenic effects in a female fetus, including abnormal development of the external genitalia. Breastfeeding
