Medicine overview

Fertigyn HP 2000 IU Injection is a prescription hormonal medicine containing 2000 IU of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). The manufacturer lists Fertigyn HP-2000 as an injectable product. hCG acts in a similar way to luteinizing hormone (LH), a natural pituitary hormone involved in reproductive function. Depending on the clinical situation, hCG is used in fertility treatment, selected forms of male hypogonadism, and certain cases of undescended testes in prepubertal boys.

What it is used for

Human chorionic gonadotropin can be used to trigger ovulation in appropriately selected women with anovulatory infertility after suitable follicular stimulation. It is also indicated in selected males with hypogonadotropic hypogonadism and in prepubertal cryptorchidism where the undescended testis is not caused by an anatomical obstruction. The appropriate use depends on the underlying condition and requires medical assessment and monitoring.

How it works

hCG has biological activity similar to luteinizing hormone (LH). In females, LH-like activity supports final follicular maturation and ovulation and stimulates the corpus luteum to produce progesterone. In males, hCG acts on Leydig cells in the testes and stimulates androgen, including testosterone, production. These hormonal effects explain its established roles in ovulation induction and selected conditions associated with inadequate gonadal stimulation.

How it is taken

Fertigyn HP 2000 IU is supplied as an injectable product and should be used only according to the prescribed fertility or hormonal treatment plan. The verified general route for urinary-derived hCG injection is intramuscular administration after reconstitution. Treatment for infertility requires appropriate clinical and laboratory monitoring; the dose and timing depend on the indication and individual response and should be determined by the treating clinician.

Important warnings

Do not use hCG after a previous hypersensitivity reaction to hCG or human gonadotropins. Contraindications can include primary gonadal failure in women, uncontrolled thyroid, adrenal or pituitary disorders, certain hormone-dependent tumors, reproductive abnormalities incompatible with pregnancy, unexplained abnormal vaginal bleeding, and uterine fibroids incompatible with pregnancy. Fertility treatment can cause ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS), ovarian cyst complications, multiple pregnancy and, rarely, thromboembolism. Seek urgent medical attention for severe or rapidly increasing abdominal or pelvic pain or swelling, breathing difficulty, rapid weight gain, markedly reduced urination, chest pain, leg swelling, or symptoms of a severe allergic reaction. hCG may cause fluid retention and requires caution in people with cardiac or renal disease, hypertension, epilepsy, migraine or asthma. It has not been demonstrated to be an effective treatment for obesity or weight loss.

Side effects and monitoring

Common or reported effects of hCG treatment include injection-site pain or rash, headache, fatigue, edema, breast tenderness, abdominal discomfort, nausea and diarrhea. In males, water and sodium retention and gynecomastia can occur; androgen stimulation can cause precocious puberty in children. Serious effects include severe OHSS, large or ruptured ovarian cysts, fluid accumulation in the abdomen or chest, thromboembolism and severe hypersensitivity reactions. Women receiving hCG as part of fertility treatment require monitoring of follicular development and treatment response. Urgent assessment is needed for severe abdominal symptoms, breathing difficulty, rapid weight gain, chest pain, significant swelling, or signs of anaphylaxis.

Pregnancy

hCG used for ovulation induction should not be administered after pregnancy has been established. Pregnancy is listed as a contraindication for hCG used in fertility induction, and gonadotropin-assisted conception also carries an increased possibility of multiple pregnancy.

Food and drink

No clinically relevant food instructions were identified for this injectable medicine. Because it is given by injection rather than taken orally, administration is not dependent on meals.

Storage

Store refrigerated at 2°C to 8°C. Do not freeze.

Frequently asked questions

Why is an hCG injection given as a “trigger shot” during fertility treatment?

hCG has activity similar to luteinizing hormone and can trigger final follicular maturation and ovulation when follicles have developed sufficiently. Its timing is determined from fertility monitoring, so it should be given exactly when instructed.

Can an hCG injection cause a false-positive pregnancy test?

Yes. Pregnancy tests detect hCG, so hCG administered as a medicine can temporarily make a pregnancy test positive even when the result is due to the injection rather than pregnancy.

How will I know if I am developing ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome after hCG?

Contact your fertility team promptly if you develop significant abdominal or pelvic pain or swelling, nausea, rapid weight gain, reduced urination, or breathing difficulty. Severe OHSS can cause substantial ovarian enlargement and fluid accumulation and requires medical assessment.

Does hCG increase the chance of twins or other multiple births?

Multiple pregnancy is a recognized risk when hCG is used with gonadotropin fertility treatment. Your fertility team normally monitors follicular development to help manage this risk.

Is hCG the same as testosterone?

No. hCG is a gonadotropin hormone, not testosterone. In males it acts on the testes to stimulate production of androgens such as testosterone.

Can Fertigyn HP 2000 IU be used for weight loss?

No established evidence supports hCG as an effective weight-loss treatment. Official hCG prescribing information states that it has not been demonstrated to increase weight loss beyond that achieved through calorie restriction.

Why do I need monitoring when hCG is used for fertility treatment?

Monitoring helps determine whether follicles have developed appropriately and when hCG should be administered. It also helps clinicians identify excessive ovarian response and reduce treatment-related risks.

Can Cheap Generic Med ship Fertigyn HP 2000 IU internationally?

Cheap Generic Med serves multiple international destinations, including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Singapore, New Zealand, Japan and South Africa. Shipping availability does not establish that personal import is lawful; prescription and import requirements can vary by destination and circumstances.

Will my Cheap Generic Med order have tracking?

Under the standard fulfilment model, tracked international shipping is used and a tracking number should be provided after dispatch. Carrier systems can take 24–72 hours to begin showing movement.
