Xtafil 5 Mg Tablet contains tadalafil, a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor. Tadalafil is used to treat erectile dysfunction in adult men and can also treat urinary symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), an enlarged prostate. For erectile dysfunction, it improves the natural erectile response to sexual stimulation by increasing blood flow to the penis. The 5 mg strength can be used in established once-daily tadalafil regimens when prescribed appropriately.

Tadalafil is used to treat erectile dysfunction, where it helps a man achieve and maintain an erection when sexually stimulated. Important warnings

Tadalafil should not be used when sexual activity is medically inadvisable because of cardiovascular disease. Extra caution is required with alpha-blockers, blood-pressure medicines, strong CYP3A4 inhibitors, kidney or liver impairment, and substantial alcohol intake. An erection lasting more than 4 hours requires emergency medical attention. Sudden vision or hearing changes also require prompt medical assessment. Patients with relevant cardiovascular, kidney, liver, or blood-pressure conditions may require additional clinical assessment before or during treatment.
Pregnancy
Tadalafil products used for erectile dysfunction and BPH are not indicated for use in females. There are no adequate human pregnancy data to establish drug-associated developmental risk. Animal studies did not show adverse developmental effects during organ formation at exposures up to those described in the prescribing information, but this does not establish safety in human pregnancy.
Breastfeeding
Tadalafil products for erectile dysfunction and BPH are not indicated for use in females. It is not known whether tadalafil or its metabolites are present in human breast milk or what effects exposure could have on a breastfed infant or milk production. Tadalafil and/or its metabolites have been detected in the milk of lactating rats.
Food, drink and interactions
